Friday was a beautiful day for my daughter and I. We spent a good amount of time learning about the world beyond our four walls.
Like many others have experienced, the pandemic has been a miserable blessing. When we talk about how much it has taken away from our lives and families, we often realize how miserable and upsetting this moment in history is. When we look at how much it has taught us, we realize that the world could change at any moment and we have to buckle up and get ready to navigate when it happens.
We learn that so many real world issues have been guided by a pandemic that has brought so much chaos. When we look positively at these changes we can see clear opinions around the world and voices that need to be heard. I have seen more public opinion and outcry then I have in years. We learn that we have to fight to be heard. The real world problems we face are coming to light and it has become the stage ground for serious adjustments and change.
I want to believe that with all of our opinions and cries, the world will change and it will be better. The problems we face will always be there and the voice to be heard will always be there too. As I watch the world change and I see people fight for their happiness; I realize that it is still important for the people and for all of us who feel a struggle, to stay positive and to find the beauty in little things too. It sets a healthy balance for our future.
My daughter and I make it a mission to get outside and look around. I agree that it is vital for children to have outdoor experiences, not just for physical activity but for excitement and development as well. When you are currently living in a pandemic world and the end is unknown, it becomes imperative to remember and be reminded of what we have around us. It is still a blessing.
Life is amazing in the way that even when things are hard and complicated, there are still many things to do to stay positive and active. I think it's really important especially in a time like a pandemic, that we support each other in boosting happiness. The truth about people is everyone has their own feelings and emotions and if so it's very important to help lift our family and friends up when we notice they are down. If the pandemic has brought us one lesson, it is to value family and friends as much as possible because every day is a gift and every day you get one is a blessing.
I personally enjoy taking long walks through trails and on the side of rivers. I am excited for my daughter to learn and love it as well. We really enjoy getting outside and taking in the beauty of the day. The best part is there isn't always a lot to do and taking a walk is both simple and relaxing. Sometimes I will bring activities on our journeys and we will spend more time out. Sometimes we just take a walk for peace. Whatever the case is, it's worth it.
It is exciting for me as a parent to be able to teach my offspring about the world and how it has changed. It is exciting for me to help her become more excited about what the world has to offer. I have mentioned in another post that I genuinely believe we borrow the earth from our children and so for me, environmental education is vital.
The best part about the world is, that there is so much to learn, and knowing how to value and appreciate our planet, can actually make it easier to find happiness. The world does not always have to be a happy place for us to be happy. I love finding positive and happy activities to keep the mood up!
Think about all of the activities you can do with your family or even for self-care. According to psychologists, reading adventure stories, writing in a journal, or even gazing up at the stars on a clear night, can impact overall well-being. Whatever it is for you, keeping up with the joys in life, and all the little things will help make the world feel a little simpler and more manageable.
I wanted to write about the little things in life because the more we adjust to our new normal, the more I appreciate the little things. A lot of people find happiness in their hobbies, I believe it to be a great tool.
There are so many things we can do to stay positive and to adjust to our new lifestyles and current situations. We have so many opportunities for growth in the happiness area. I expect to learn new and exciting acitivites as life goes on and the days change.
Whatever your little thing is in life, enjoy it. Enjoy it to the fullest amount and find the positives in everything you do!
Stay positive, friends.
